Decide to Lead Your Life

Whether you’re already in a leadership role or just stepping toward one, here’s a truth most people overlook: the moment you decide to take it seriously, everything shifts.

Decide to become the person who lives fully. Who leans into discomfort. Who chooses courage over comfort. The one who dares, who pushes boundaries, who goes all in.

Now, indulge me for a moment.

Grab a pen and paper.

Write down, right now, what the very best version of a human looks like to you. Imagine the life you’d have if setbacks hadn’t held you back.

  • What if you hadn’t dropped out of college?

  • What if you’d gotten that promotion?

  • What if you believed graduate school was possible?

  • What if starting a family hadn’t caught you off guard?

  • What if doubt and detours had never stopped you?

Close your eyes. Visualize the life you still want, the one that keeps calling to you. Then write it in vivid detail:

  • I take a vacation with my closest friends every year.

  • I host Sunday dinners full of laughter and connection.

  • I lead with clarity and confidence.

  • I wake up excited and energized each day.

Whatever it is, let it all pour out. Push yourself to dream without limits. This is not the time for planning. It’s the time for possibility.

Fill the page, front and back if you can.

Then, tonight, place that paper by your bed and read it before sleep. Tomorrow morning, read it again and circle the five things that stir your soul.

On a new page, write down those five. Next to each, answer:

  • If this were already true… how would I move?

  • Who would I talk to?

  • What would I eat?

  • How would I carry myself?

  • What decisions would I make?

And then, start living that way. Today.

This is how you move from wishful thinking to intentional being. This is how you lead your life. And this is how you become the kind of person others want to follow, because you are actively, unapologetically becoming.
